How to generate fast and accurate load calcs

Edit assumptions and set defaults in the 3D model after your first scan so you can focus on scanning for the rest of the home

Achieving fast and accurate loads calcs on every project is easy. Here's how:

1. Do room-by-room scans

This will help you generate room-by-room loads and allow you to more precisely tailor your assumptions. Learn more.

2. After your first scan, take 60 seconds to adjust construction assumptions

For every project, you should review (and possibly edit) the assumptions for the most common building envelope components to make sure they match what you are seeing in the home:

  • Walls

  • Floors (or Ceilings if starting on the 2nd story)

  • Windows

They are easy to change, and after you edit any component, you can set it as "Use as default" so that all of your subsequent scans in the home will use the same assumption. Just select a component, adjust the values, and set as the default. Watch a video example.

3. With defaults set, scan the rest of the building

Now that you have the defaults set for the project, you can focus on scanning and be assured that accurate assumptions will be used throughout the building.
