Does amply work on iPhones, Samsung tablets, or laptops?
No. Amply runs exclusively on iPad Pros. There is currently no other tablet on the market with a LiDAR scanner with enough horsepower to scan a home. See details below for compatible iPads.
How to figure out your existing iPad Model Name:
Go to Settings app (gray gear icon)
Tap "General" on the left side
Tap "About" on the top right
Look for "Model Name" on the top right
iPad Pro models that work with Amply:
Any iPad with the Pro label made after 2021 will work, however we recommend the more recent models that have improved computational power:
Any size iPad Pro with the M5 chip (brand new as of October 2025)
iPad Pro 11" (M4 Chip) (5th generation)
iPad Pro 13" (M4 Chip) 7th generation)
iPad Pro 12.9" (M2 Chip) (6th generation)
iPad Pro 12.9" (5th generation)
These models will work but have lower performance:

Our app is designed to work almost entirely offline, cellular is not required

Wifi & Cell: Wifi+cell is definitely nice, but it's a little pricey to set up another mobile line
iPad cases
We know most users have cases for their iPads to keep them safe day to day. Amply does not have a single recommended case but we do have a couple key things to look out for when buying a case:
Avoid cases that cover the camera. Any film or cover on the camera will affect the LiDAR and Amply's ability to scan the home.
Be mindful when opening a case to scan that the cover does not then close over the camera.
