High level summary of features and improvements for each Amply version

Amply 5.9.0

New Features

New one tap option to apply construction edits to an entire project: Yes, we heard you! We finally have an easy way to apply and update construction details in one fell swoop. Want to change all the walls to 2x6 R19? We got you. All ceilings to R30? Easy.

  • Navigate to the Construction Defaults

  • Update the desired construction default value

  • Toggle Apply to all existing to apply the update to existing values.

  • Select Overwrite to apply the changes

Note: As usual, changes to construction defaults will also carry forward to all future scans in the home.

Ability to rotate rooms in the 3D floor plan to tailor layout just the way you want: We also heard you on rotating individual rooms on the floor plan! You can now rotate individual rooms, simplifying edits to the 3D floor plan.

  • Navigate to the 3D floor plan

  • Select "Edit Mode"

  • Tap on the room you want to rotate and drag the background to rotate the room.

  • Tap anywhere to unselect the room.

Amply 5.8.0

New device location tracking and recovery with Find My Location: Since version 5.0.0, Amply has built a 3D floor plan of the home even when scanning room-by-room. Amply 5.8.0 introduces Find My Location, a feature to smooth the real-time building of floor plan of each story of the home. This enables far more reliable and accurate 3D layout of the home.

If Amply loses your location between scans, the app will warn you with red tracking

status.

How to find your location:

  • Press Tracking status and then Find Location.

  • Rotate the camera around the room, so Amply can identify features like windows, doors and furniture

  • Once your location looks correct, press Done to confirm.

  • If your location does not look right, continue moving the camera around the room to give Amply more information to orient you.

  • You can then continue scanning as usual!

You can always edit the 3D floor plan afterwards using Edit mode.

Streamlined Manual J report export workflow: We simplified the steps to export a pdf report. After selecting Preview Manual J, you will directly have the option to export the pdf. This removes an additional "preview pdf" step.

Amply 5.7.0

Easy access construction defaults: You no longer need to wait for your first scan to enter construction defaults. Enter the address and get easy access to view and update construction defaults. The defaults will apply to all scanned rooms.

Adjust construction defaults before scanning: Set construction defaults before you start scanning. This ensures all scans use the defaults avoiding the need to adjust building components room by room.

Review and adjust: You can use the same construction default menu to quickly review and update defaults in the middle of project.

Note: updating the defaults in the middle of a project does not change the values for completed scans.

Amply 5.6.0

Room orientation and window direction: Amply has always set room orientation and window direction using the iPad's built in compass. You can now find the room and window orientation more easily via a compass visual on the 3D model. Feel you need to make a slight orientation adjustment? Access support from the app: You can now access the Amply help center from the My Design view. You can chat with our support team to get answers to your questions. You must be connected to the internet to use this feature. Learn more here.

Amply 5.5.0

Shorter and simpler Manual J reports! We have added a new Construction Details summary page for the entire project and for individual rooms in the report. This makes it even easier to understand key project assumptions and reduces report pages by 40% or more for most homes.

Building component summary table now in the Manual J report - the Manual J report now shows an at a glance view of the sources of heating and cooling loads for the project. The summary table also includes the square footage by component of the scanned space.

Amply 5.3.0

  • First room scan calibration and improved scanning - your first scan for a new project will start with a quick calibration. This leads to an overall smoother room by room scanning experience.

  • Easier navigation - Reports, Homeowner Info, and Building Profile are now also available in the sidebar when you tap into the “scans” view. They work identically to their counterparts on the Proposal home view.

  • User email appears on the design PDF - your email address is automatically added to the design PDF to tie you and your business to your proposal.
